Nightshift CNC Turner 

An oppoprtunity has opened up in the Portsmouth area to join a well established precision engineering company who have been operating for over 40 years and manufactuer a very unique product which has a world wide reputation. The ideal CNC Turner must be able to set/operate CNC lathes using Fanuc controls but an understanding of XYZ Prototrack controls and Heidenhain is highly desierable too.
 
Essential skills needed for CNC Turner

• Must have right to live and work in the UK *Essential*
• Must have a clean criminal record *Essential*
• Must be able to set and operate CNC lathes using FANUC *Essential*
• Knowledge and use of manual measuring equipment
• Understanding of drawing tolerances and specifications

 
Desirable Skills for CNC Turner 

• Security Clearance
• CNC Programming both online and offline

• Monday to Wednesday – 3.30pm to 1.30am
• Thursday – 3.30pm to 11.30pm

CNC Turner

CNC Turner Salary – £18-28ph

The Company

Specialising in tight tolerance work for the aerospace, defence and similar industries, its large machine shop is home to a floor full of skilled engineers and on the lookout for a skilled CNC Turner to join its ranks.

CNC Turner Role & Responsibilities

• Possess a strong background in CNC Turning for at least 5 years
• Comfortable working with Fanuc or Mazak controls
• Hands on, able to set & operate CNC lathes
• Machinists able to program from scratch or edit will be eligible for the higher salary bracket
• Roles available on days & lates, shift premium included in the higher end above
• Able to work from technical drawings
• A background in CNC Turning to aerospace, defence or similar standards is desirable but training will be provided for the right candidate

CNC Turner

Location: Portsmouth

Shift pattern: 6am-2pm Mon-Fri, 2pm-11pm Mon-Thurs, 2-6pm Fri

Salary: £16.50-18 per hour dependent on experience

We are currently working in partnership with a best-in-class successful complex component manufacturing company that provide global services. Due to their continued success and internal promotions, they are looking for a CNC Turner Programmer to join their busy machining department.

CNC Turner Programmer responsibilities:

• Programming, setting and operating 2-axis CNC lathes using Mazak controls.
• Ability to adjust machine offset coordinates to correct manufacturing environments.
• Good knowledge in tool setting and tooling requirements.
• Ability to adjust machine offset coordinates to repeat manufacturing requirements.
• Comfortable performing inspection on components using manual measuring tools.
• Work and promote the culture of continuous improvement, 5S and Lean manufacturing standards.

CNC Turner Programmer requirements:

• Minimum of three years previous experience of programming within a precision machining centre is essential.
• Used to working to tight tolerances on all types of materials.
• Ability to use measuring equipment including: micrometers, height gauges, comparators, bore clocks.

An opportunity has opened up for a CNC Turner (Mill/Turn) to join a leading manufacturer of precision machined components for the Oil and Gas, Telecommunications, Aerospace and Defence, Land and Sea Systems, Nuclear and Marine industries and emerging markets. CNC Turner Setter/Programmer – Job Role:

• To set and operate CNC Lathe machines and processes in a safe and efficient manner, especially Fanuc.
• Appreciation of machining process and best practice
• To produce parts in accordance with route cards and technical drawings,
