Maintenance Technician
We are currently on the lookout for a skilled maintenance technician for a specialist company based in the Portsmouth area. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of repairing and maintaining manufacturing machines. A thorough knowledge with fault finding of electrical systems and PLC programs would be highly advantageous. 

Skills needed for Maintenance Technician 

  • Mechanical/electrical maintenance experience
  • Experience of working with automated manufacturing machinery
  • Proven knowledge of pneumatic systems  
  • Previous experience of installation/testing and fault finding of electrical systems 
  • 17th edition 
  • Understanding of production ATE Systems 

Desirable skills for Maintenance Technician 

  • Electrical installation qualification 
  • Mechanical or electrical apprenticeship 
  • ONC or HNC in an engineering discipline 

Pay Rate – £18 – £25ph depending on experience

Hours – Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.45pm and Friday 8am to 12pm

The successful Production Engineer will work for a top supplier and manufacturer of products and solutions to the renewable energy sectors, with innovation and technology at the heart of their business. As the Production Technician you will get the chance to work on various types of electronics manufacturing equipment, assisting in the build, maintenance, modification, and improvement of these for the company.
 
Responsibilities for the Production Technician:
 

  • Provide support to the operations and engineering teams on maintenance of electrical production equipment.
  • Build, modify and commission production equipment.
  • Manage data such as routings, test reports, BoM’s, etc.
  • Where necessary generate technical documentation such as assembly instructions, testing reports and process improvements.
  • Create and implement process and equipment improvements.
  • Fault finding and diagnosing component failures.

 
Experience for the Production Technician:
 

  • Ideally hold an official electrical / electronic qualification.
  • Experienced with cables, harnesses, looms, wiring, etc.
  • Confident with soldering and potentially reworking through-hole components.
  • Strong ability within fault finding to component, PCB and system level.
  • Experience using various test equipment such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Meticulous nature and detail orientated.
