Holt Engineering is looking for an SMT Operator in Portsmouth!

Our Manufacturing client is looking for SMT Operator to join their fast-growing business to support within the pick and place department. 
As an SMT Operator you will: be assembling Printed Circuit Board  (PCBA) using a variety of tools & equipment including screen printers, pick & place machines, and reflow ovens.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS OF SMT OPERATOR 

• Good working knowledge of IPC-A-610 & IPC J-STD-001 preferred.
• Awareness & understanding of ESD Controls.
• Reading & understanding complex drawings and instructions.
• Awareness & understanding of AS9100/ISO9001.

DUTIES OF SMT OPERATOR 

• To build PCBAs using SMT equipment IAW work instructions & procedures provided
• Check work completed for compliance before passing to the next stage
• Ensure job history is accurately maintained/reported on all route cards the employee works on
• Proactively advise management of any issues that may affect delivery & or quality.
• Ensure that all Health and Safety, housekeeping, quality and environmental policies and procedures are adhered to.

FRAMEWORK
SMT operators are an essential part of the production team. Day-to-day work priorities will be given by the Production Manager & SMT Team Leader.
 
KEY PERSONAL SKILLS

• Sound knowledge of SMT assembly equipment & assembly processes
• Excellent communicator, written, IT, and verbal.
• PC/IT literate, using PCs and tablets as required
• Motivated
• Good time management skills.
• Calm and collected with the ability to work under pressure.

 
Working hours are Monday to Thursday 7:30-16:30 and Friday 7:30 to 12:30.

CAD Engineer 

We are currently on the lookout for a skilled CAD Engineer to join a well established bespoke furniture manufacturer based in the Portsmouth area. For this position you will be responsible for producing detailed working drawings from Interior and Yacht Designers initial concept drawings and designs in Solidworks. A background in either high-end joinery or the marine industry is essential for this position.

– Excellent computer and administration skills, including Microsoft Office applications

Manufacturing Engineer

I’m on the lookout for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a highly reputable and long established company within the Portsmouth area. The role of the Manufacturing Engineer is to implement new and improve existing production lines and processes in order to maximise efficiency’s. You will be tasked to design, setup and develop these processes utilising lean principles to optimise productivity. 

 
The client is owned by a globally recognised powerhouse, collectively they employ over 100,000 globally. As the Manufacturing Engineer there will be plenty of opportunities to learn and grow within the business too. 

Manufacturing Engineer Role: 

• To assist the Technician team in determining the correct TPM activities and schedules.
• To design, setup and develop production lines / processes utilising lean principles to optimise cell productivity.
• Review existing production Cells and implement changes to improve labour utilisation.
• Provide solutions / improvements to address HSE issues
• Provide support to the manufacturing Cells and drive continuous improvement through RCA.
• Provide technical / Process support to Engineering Technicians in support of RCA.
• To ensure that all new or modified processes, equipment and materials are introduced and used in accordance with UK Health and Safety regulations and Company Procedures.
• Ensuring timely completion of Kaizen ideas
• Be a key driver in our safety first culture

The successful Manufacturing Engineer: 

• Ideally Degree Educated and/or Time served apprenticeship in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering related support or suitable discipline.
• Proven Experience in managing projects is essential.
• Six Sigma Green Belt qualification (or practical application) is desirable.
• Hands on practical Engineering skills 
• Demonstrable RCA problem solving skills.

Maintenance Technician

We are currently on the lookout for a skilled maintenance technician for a specialist company based in the Portsmouth area. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of rapairing and maintaining manufacuring machines. A thorough knowledge with fault finding of electrical systems and PLC programs would be highly advantageous. 

Skills needed for Maintenance Technician 

• Mechanical/electrical maintenance experience
• Experience of working with automated manufacturing machinery
• Proven knowledge of pneumatic systems  
• Previous experience of installation/testing and fault finding of electrical systems 
• 17th edition 
• Understanding of production ATE Systems 

Desirable skills for Maintenance Technician 

• Electrical installation qualification 
• Mechanical or electrical apprenticeship 
• ONC or HNC in an engineering discipline 

Pay Rate – £18 – £25ph depending on expereince
