Business Development Manager

Location: Andover

Salary: up to £55k + company car

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering company in the Andover area, who are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their growing team and increased production capabilities.

Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:

  • Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients, new partnerships, and new services.
  • Assist in creating new strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, gauging their needs and develop proposals to address their needs.
  • Possessing a strong understanding of the company’s capabilities and markets.
  • Be able to work as part of a small team as well as use your own initiative and be self-motivated.
  • Effective planning and organisational skills.
  • Assist with business marketing requirements and to help create content for generating new leads via social media / website / targeted e-mail campaigns and possible trade shows/exhibitions.
  • To communicate on a daily/weekly basis with the Sales Director and operations team. Implement any actions as required.

Requirements of the Business Development Manager:

  • Must have a proven effective sales record, being able to generate and convert leads is essential.
  • An enthusiastic, self-driven person who can identify, and develop leads into sales opportunities, with excellent customer relations.
  • Be highly skilled in professional negotiations, able to schedule, and organise workload.
  • Experienced in working from the front end, ensuring follow up calls and meetings are timely managed in gaining new business.
  • Excellent communication is required across all aspects of the business.
  • Customer interactions from to face to face meetings.
  • Schedule, liaise and assist in the next stages for technical meetings.
  • Be able to build and enhance customer and colleague relationships.

This role is predominantly Field based with requirements to be in the office for regular meetings. You must be prepared to travel the UK extensively, with some overseas travel and overnight stays as required.
