Machine Shop Manager
We are currently working with a prestigious and premier level business who are on the lookout for a Machine Shop Manager to join their growing business.
The company are steeped in British manufacturing heritage as a top tier shotgun maker, epitomising British craftsmanship and skill in the intricacies of the one-off guns they make for their clients. The Machine Shop Manager will be responsible for the day to day activities of the machine shop, proactively ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently and to the high standards that the company has built their reputation around.
Key responsibilities as Machine Shop Manager:
- Assign and determine machinist workload.
- Monitor and manage the inventory of tools and equipment needed in the shop.
- Organise any service and maintenance needed on plant machinery.
- Oversee and advise on new programs for the CNC machinery.
- Identify and implement and lean manufacturing changes that may be necesary.
- Identify and trianing needs for the workshop staff.
- Monitor and iodentify potential areas for cost reduction and increased efficiencies.
Key experience for the Machine Shop Manager:
- A proactive and “hands on” approach to probelm solving.
- Demonstrable abilities in leading and managing a workshop.
- Confident knowledge with various CNC softwares (Vericut, MasterCAM, Fanuc).
- Ideally have a background in machining and CNC programming
- Time served apprenticeship desirable
