We have a role for an experienced Stores Person and Forklift Driver paying £13ph within a local business who can offer career progression from the start. You will become part of a vital stores team within the busy manufacturing company in Ferndown, ensuring the factory always has enough materials and even assisting the Machine Operators and Engineers as and when needed. 

This is role is working Monday to Fridays on a day shift with an early finish on a Friday 

To apply for this Stores Person and Forklift Driver position, you must have:

  • Experience working in Stores, Goods in and Despatch
  • Good communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • PC Literate and able to maintain records accurately 
  • Ability to work alone & also in a team
  • Counterbalance Forklift License 

The successful Stores Person and Forklift Driver will have the below responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all parts are stored or issued in the correct way to avoid damage. 
  • Picking and kitting 
  • Maintaining accurate records on ERP systems as well as completing paperwork quickly and efficiently 
  • Moving materials 
  • Working in factory to assist machine operators 
  • Using forklift to move materials and unload deliveries 

Previous stores experience within a manufacturing/ production company is essential.

Production Operative

We are recruiting for an experienced Production Operative to join our client in Poole, this is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and well established business within this busy period of growth. 

The successful Production Operative will be key to ensuring the efficient flow through of prepared steel to feed the fabrication department, as well as supporting general factory operations by conducting other essential production and project factory duties.

This role can offer an immediate start as it is a new opening created to support the welding and fabrication period as their orders continue to grow, the rate is £12 – £12.77 DOE and it is working a day shift Monday to Friday with an early finish on Friday. 

The main responsibilities to be considered for this Production Operative:

  • Goods inward inspection of project raw materials and other bought in goods 
  • Grinding, fettling, cleaning and preparation of steel and welds 
  • Picking and issuing material kits
  • Inspection, touch-up and stickering of finished project goods
  • Hand painting/spraying required goods.
  • Organising project material in the yard for safe storage
  • Working with minimal supervision, displaying a strong pride in one’s work and good eye to detail.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment
  • Storing, handling and using all gas and chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets
  • Shotblasting of heavy steel components or material as required and providing cover in the absence of other Factory Operatives.
  • Ad-hoc duties to assist the relevant Supervisors, Managers and Operations Director with the smooth running of the factory and warehouse as required.

Requirements to be considered for this Production Operative vacancy: 

  • Manual handling loads around 15 – 25kgs.
  • Experience in grinding, fettling, cleaning and preparing steel is essential.
  • Experience of shot blasting is highly desirable
  • A positive and confident self-starter with a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck experience and/or a previous License is highly preferable.
  • MIG welding experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
