The Company

Operating within a niche area of the industry, this small, multifunctioning machine shop is looking for an aspiring CNC Turner to join its close-knit team. As their new CNC Turner, you’ll be working with stainless steel and brass to machine components to single-digit micron tolerances, then deburr, finish & assemble to help get the final product out the door to cope with their steady order book.

CNC Turner Role & Responsibilities

• Set & operate CNC lathes
• Comfortable using Fanuc or Siemens controls
• Experience with driven tooling is desirable but not essential
• Versatility will be essential as you’ll be covering multiple bases within the company while working in a close-knit team
• Deburring, finishing & assembling components
• Working from technical drawings

CNC Turner – The Company:

• We are currently recruiting a CNC Turner for a precision engineering company in Redditch. They are looking to expand the CNC Turning team due to their healthy order books! CNC Turner – Duties:

• Set and operate CNC lathes, some of which have live tooling
• Check and inspect own work using inspection equipment (Verniers, micrometres, SPG’s and PPG’s
• In process inspection to ensure total process control is maintained
• Manufacture components from engineering drawings to the correct quality standards
• Ensure that information relating to the manufacturing process is accurately recorded, maintained  and updated to reflect current process on job cards
• Ensure that preventative machine maintenance schedules are strictly carried out
• Maintain a safe and tidy work environment at all times

CNC Turner – Requirements:

• Knowledge of Fanuc control systems on CNC Turning machines
• Aerospace industry experience desired
• Experience working with engineering drawings and work to instructions i.e. job cards
• Ability to set and operate different machine tools
• PC literate

CNC Turner – Job Role:

• To set and operate CNC Lathe machines and processes in a safe and efficient manner, especially but not limited to Fanuc & Mazak machines
• Appreciation of machining process and best practice
• To produce parts in accordance with route cards and technical drawings, 
• Ensure all parts are produced to schedule requirements and quality standards.
• Work in adherence to the departmental procedures to achieve best in class service and maintain company quality procedures;

CNC Turner – Requirements:

• To set, and operate, production machines, equipment and auxiliary equipment (where trained) ensuring setting and run targets are achieved, this will include the ability to modify programmes accordingly specifically prove out new (sample) programmes;
• To carry out off-set changes, tooling and cutting tip changes as required;
• To confidently strip and reset Tools and fixtures 
• To ensure quality requirements and checks including satisfactory 1st-off, using appropriate measuring equipment are carried out as required;
• To ensure all required paperwork/labels are correctly completed and filed as necessary;
• To ensure manufacturing shop floor data collection system is updated accurately when required;

CNC Turner Programmer

Salary – £18.50p/h

Location – Andover

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision Engineering company in the Andover area, who are looking for an experienced CNC Turner Programmer to join their growing team, with an immediate start.

The successful CNC Turner Programmer will have:

•    Solid experience in setting and operating CNC machines to prove out first off and production on Fanuc systems.
•    Writing and editing online programmes (Fanuc) for effective machining of components. 
•    Good understanding of geometric tolerances and methodical problem solving. 
•    Knowledge of high spec industry standards such as Defence, Motorsport, Medical or Aerospace.

CNC Turner Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Conventional/CNC Turner to join our growing team. You will play a vital role in ensuring the high-quality production of machined components for our heavy engineering projects. This role requires a strong understanding of conventional and CNC turning techniques, the ability to work with tight tolerances, and a commitment to safety and quality. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills further by assisting with the training of future machinists.

CNC Turner Key Responsibilities:

• Precision Turning: Operate both conventional and CNC lathes to produce high-quality components up to 20 meters in length, adhering to strict dimensional tolerances (+/- 0.05mm).
• Technical Expertise: Interpret and follow 2D engineering drawings to plan and set up machines, processes, and tooling effectively.
• CNC Programming: Utilize basic Siemens control programming to automate CNC lathe operations.
• Material Handling: Safely operate overhead pendant cranes for loading and unloading materials.
• Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of components throughout the machining process to ensure they meet all specifications.
• Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as swarf removal, oiling, and greasing to keep machines in optimal condition.
• Shop Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area within the Machine Shop.
• Safety Focus: Strictly adhere to and promote safe working practices in the Machine Shop.
• Flexibility and Adaptability: Demonstrate a willingness to adapt to changing workloads and learn new skills as needed.

CNC Turner experience:

• Proven experience in operating conventional and CNC lathes.
• A strong understanding of machining principles and techniques.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering company in the Basingstoke area, who are looking for a CNC Turner to join their late shift growing team and increased production capabilities.

CNC Turner responsibilities:

• Setting and operating CNC lathes, monitoring the machining process, and making necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC turning machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn-out parts to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues or malfunctions that may arise during the machining process.

CNC Turner requirements:

• Experience in setting and operating lathes within a manufacturing environment in using Fanuc or Mazak control languages.
• Knowledge of machining principles and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Familiarity with a variety of materials, cutting tools, and machining techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Adhere to AS9100/ISO9001 standards.
