This is an exciting opportunity which will see a motivated individual with a broad skillset assist the head of IT in the day-to-day support, maintenance and upgrade of the IT infrastructure. The duties of the Infrastructure & Software Support Developer will be:

  • To assist the head of Information Technology in the installing, managing, monitoring and upgrading of:
  • VMware ESXI server and vCSA infrastructure
  • Server/backup hardware provisioning
  • Microsoft Server 2012 R2+ and services
  • Active directory domains, security groups, permissions and group policies
  • Network infrastructure, including TCP/IP LAN, switches, routers, firewall’s, and Wi-FI Ap’s
  • Veeam Backups and Replication

  • Maintain accurate IT documentation

The successful Infrastructure & Support Developer will have experience with the following:

  • Building and administering VMware ESXi and vCSA environments

  • Administering Microsoft Windows Server environments including new server setup, upgrades and services.
  • Administering Microsoft domain environments, Active Directory, GPO’s, DNS, WSUS, 365/Entra
  • Backup and Recovery support including NAS/ISCSI, disaster recovering planning
  • TCP/IP Networking knowledge including subnet routing, switches, VPN, Wi-Fi
  • Server hardware support and knowledge including troubleshooting, RAID disks, performance tailoring
  • Software application installations/ upgrades and project support.

The Infrastructure & Support Developer will:

  • Have 3+ years’ demonstratable experience in a similar role.

The Test Development Engineer will be an experienced hands-on individual who has sound test knowledge and capability with a background in defence, aviation, aerospace, or military would be ideal.
 
 
 Responsibilities for the Test Development Engineer:

  • Conduct Valve Development testing under the supervision and mentoring of R&D technicians, design engineers and the Engineering Manager, applying sound engineering practices in a timeframe consistent with business objectives.
  • Design qualification test parameters for the validation of new products in accordance with project objectives and milestones.
  • Apply relevant engineering standards, legislation, certification, and customer compliance ensuring comprehensive validation and reporting is delivered.
  • Compile test reports as required for documenting design validation compliance and maintaining comprehensive traceability.
  • Conduct concurrent engineering tasks optimising designs for manufacturing methodology, assembly, and testing processes.
  • Develop test equipment capabilities and continuous improvement in data acquisition software/hardware and pressure/flow mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct VAVE tasks to derivative and existing products, ensuring manufacturing costs are minimised and cost targets are achieved working coherently with production Engineers.

 
 
Experience required for the Test Development Engineer:

 
 

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree, Diploma, or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Demonstrable key skills in and knowledge around materials, stress analysis, and practical mechanical assembly.
  • Practical skills and good working knowledge of precision manufacturing, CNC lathes, milling, and general Fabrication.
  • Experience or knowledge of engineering software, 2D and 3D CAD, FEA, CFD, Mathcad, and MS Office, preferably using Autodesk platforms (AutoCAD, Inventor, ANSYS).
  • Professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organisational skills as the role will involve working on various projects simultaneously, including coordinating with other project team members, liaising with manufacturing and sales departments, reviewing progress as well as evaluating results.

Their products can be found transmitting high bandwidth data across hostile terrain, enabling secure ticket sales on trains, processing colossal amounts of data or gathering scientific insight in the cold and crushing depths of the ocean floor! 

 

Senior Systems Design Engineer Key Responsibilities

 

  • Evaluate and interpret project technical requirements to develop concept architectures / designs.
  • Design and develop hardware solutions, from concept through to qualification / implementation / integration.
  • Ensure all customer requirements are met throughout the development process, to demonstrate fulfilment of Verification and Validation activities.
  • Support the development of test strategies and plans for formal qualification testing (including shock, vibration, EMC, Safety etc.)
  • Produce and maintain any required design documentation.
  • Play an active role in key milestone events such as Design Reviews, both internal and customer facing
  • Support the build of initial prototypes / qualification systems.
  • Supporting other Systems Engineering Team members with design information as required
  • Knowledge of Project, Systems Engineering and Business lifecycles, with an understanding of Engineering activities at each stage of the lifecycle
  • Provide support, as required, to other areas of the Business.

Senior Systems Design Engineer Requirements:

 

  • Experience in a Systems Engineering environment, ideally defence-related
  • Designing products for harsh environments – i.e. shock, vibration, thermal extremes – working knowledge of Military Specifications and Standards is a benefit
  • Extensive knowledge of Electrical / Electronic / Computer components and systems
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals, processes, and standards
  • Good understanding of EMC, particularly in systems design
  • Experience of designing for longevity and useability / through-life support, for example consideration of Human Factors and Integrated Logistics Support requirements
  • Competent at producing accurate and professional documentation
  • Understands the need for configuration control, change management and security marking aspects of all types of documentation and drawings
  • Experienced in managing own work and able to prioritise tasks to meet milestones
  • Working in a multi-disciplined environment (mechanical, electrical, electronic, safety, human factors, security, software etc.)
  • Good attention to detail, conscientious, and takes pride in work
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Due to the nature of the work carried out, all applicants must be eligible for SC Clearance
