Key responsibilities as Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice engineering
  • Create manufacturing works instructions and visual aids (lay-up/ assembly manuals)
  • Interrogation of customer drawings and CAD data to produce ply templates, foam kits etc
  • Devise innovative manufacturing solutions

  • Strong understanding of industry best practise of manufacturing processes and procedures
  • A good understanding of the processes involved in kitting and manufacturing components.
  • Strong working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD. Understanding the use of CAD is essential in this role

Responsibilities as Senior Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Lead, mentor and build a multiskilled manufacturing engineering team equipped to support production produce existing product lines and implement growth plans to increase capacity and reduce costs.

  • Experience with CNC programming languages (Siemens, Fanuc, Mazatrol etc.).
  • Experience programming 5-Axis milling / mill-turn and turning CNC machines.
  • Experience of CAD/CAM software (Solid Edge).
  • Wide understanding of machine shop processes.
  • Experience with of 2D CAD / 3D CAD systems (AutoCAD, Solidworks).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of MRP / ERP systems.

The duties of the Infrastructure & Software Support Engineer will be:

  • To assist the head of Information Technology in the installing, managing, monitoring and upgrading of VMware ESXI server and vCSA infrastructure
  • Server/backup hardware builds
  • Microsoft Server 2012 R2+ and services
  • Active directory domains, security groups, permissions and group policies
  • Network infrastructure, including TCP/IP LAN, switches, routers, firewall’s, and Wi-FI Ap’s
  • Veeam Backups and Replication 
  • Company applications, software updates and new software projects as required
  • Windows laptop/ Desktop OS upgrades, feature updates,patches etc.
  • Monitoring infrastructure health and performance for security and to prevent performance bottlenecks

The successful Infrastructure & Support Engineer will have experience with the following:

  • Building and administering VMware ESXi and vCSA environments
  • Server hardware builds, testing and provision
  • Administering Microsoft Windows Server environments including new server setup, upgrades and services.
  • Administering Microsoft domain environments, Active Directory, GPO’s, DNS, WSUS, 365/Entra
  • Backup and Recovery support including NAS/ISCSI, disaster recovering planning
  • TCP/IP Networking knowledge including subnet routing, switches, VPN, Wi-Fi
  • Server hardware support and knowledge including troubleshooting, RAID disks, performance tailoring
  • Software application installations/ upgrades and project support.
  • Windows Desktop/Office 365/Team environment knowledge and support

The Infrastructure & Support Engineer will need:

  • 3+ years’ demonstratable experience in a similar role.
  • To be organised, self-motivated and can show initiative
  • Be able to work in a team but also take the lead as required
  • Have the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing timescales
  • Have the ability to prioritise own workload and adapt in a fast-paced dynamic manufacturing environment

  • Setting goals and objectives for the team, holding 1-2-1 and team meetings

  • Responsible for the QV Team on Work Instruction Control, Engineering Changes and testing of new designs to relevant industry standards
  • Taking the lead on FMEAs and control plans
  • Act as the link between the Quality and Engineering Departments
  • Lead the QV Team in owning the 8D problem solving process on customer returns and failures in production
  • Support management of gauge calibration. Understand fundamentals of measurement and associated analysis, i.e. MSA
  • Own the change control process ensuring Internal & Supplier Engineering Changes are captured and customer drawing updates are flowed through the business
  • Supporting the Design & Development Team with progressing new designs into production by being responsible for the product Verification and Validation
  • Organising and participating in regular design reviews, communicating with the team and providing solutions to problems
  • Supporting the Purchasing and Quality Departments with supplier technical Issues
  • Share information with colleagues and produce recommendations through participation in regular meetings, development of project documents and production of technical reports
  • Supporting other areas of the business if the need arises
  • Adherence to all health, safety, environmental & quality policies and standards outlined by the company

 
Key Competencies

  • BEng Hons degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, e.g. Engineering, Physics or related discipline
  • Ability to read and interpret design requirements, drawings and electronic circuits
  • A good understanding of battery pack development and/or battery cell design and manufacture
  • Ability to deliver rapid, commercially focused results, with problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, presentation and training skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues and project partners
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a flexible approach to working
  • Ability to initiate, plan, organise, implement and deliver programmes of work to tight deadlines
  • Significant experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment
