The Role

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain the position holder will need to have strong buyer experience with proven negotiation and technical skills with an understanding of engineering and subcontract purchasing.

  • Supplier development, including readiness, capacity, and sustainability.
  • Manage various contracts covering components, raw materials and complex services including special processes.
  • Drive value through contracts and SLA’s using future business as leverage.
  • Highlight opportunities for future sourcing activities.

Skills & Experience

The successful applicant will be a professionally recognised procurement specialist with a proven track record of delivering performance results.

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing & Production Environment, such as Oil & Gas / Automotive / Aerospace.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar senior Purchasing / Supply Chain role.
  • Effective management of a large supplier base and budget. Supply development, sourcing suppliers benchmarking, qualification and managing the supply chain effectively to identify underperforming suppliers, monitoring cost and maintaining quality and delivery.

The Role

Reporting to the Manufacturing Director the position holder will be responsible for the coordination of all shop order activities throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

  • Responsible for ensuring all assigned parts are delivered on time, customer requirement dates are realised.
  • Completion of assigned contract reviews and order acknowledgments within agreed response targets.
  • Coordinating the provision of Engineering support and CMM programs to support delivery requirements.
  • Raising all required production paperwork and ensuring the release of materials/components ahead of scheduled shop order start dates.

Skills & Experience

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar production controller role with strong mechanical engineering experience.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple shop orders to agreed Quality, Cost Delivery targets
  • Experiences in scheduling report writing and problem-solving
  • Sound Understanding of quality management systems – ISO9001 and AS9001 standards.
