PCB Inspector

Holt Engineering is looking for a PCB Inspector for a growing manufacturing business in Fareham!

As a PCB Inspector, you will be responsible for :
Goods in stage, and final inspection of electrical & electronic assemblies. To work with the quality team to aid the development of Quality Assurance documents, plans, procedures and process flows. To identify quality problems and where appropriate provide the quality controller recommended corrective and preventive actions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Goods in, stage & Final Inspection of PCB’s, Electrical & Electronic Assemblies.
  • Calibrated Tool control issuing & approval.
  • Assist with First Article Inspection IAW AS EN ISO 9100.
  • Assist in the resolution of quality-related problems.
  • To work with the Quality Controller to develop, improve & maintain quality standards across the areas of responsibility.
  • To work with the Quality Controller to ensure that the key performance targets of quality, productivity, on-time delivery are met.
  • Proactively advise management of any issues that may affect delivery & or quality.
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety, housekeeping, quality, and environmental policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Provide QA support as necessary.
  • To assist the Quality Controller in the diagnosis of quality problems.

Qualifications:

  • Must have Industry Standard Inspection Qualifications (IPC).
  • Awareness & understanding of QMS Disciplines IAW BS EN ISO 9001:2008 & AS EN 9100.
  • Awareness & understanding of ESD Controls.
  • Reading & understanding Complex Engineering Drawings & Instructions.

Key personal skills:

  • Excellent communicator, written and verbal.
  • Analytical
  • Must be able to work under own initiative to solve problems.
  • Motivated
  • Good time management skills.
  • Calm and collected with the ability to work under extreme pressure.
  • Structured and logical approach to problem-solving.

Working hours are Monday to Thursday 7:30-16:30 and Friday 7:30 to 12:30.

The Inspector is a key part of the operations structure, acting as key support for the Quality Controller & is expected to operate within the framework of objectives and targets determined by the Management but with the latitude to pursue initiatives that will enable the department targets to be achieved.

We are currently on the lookout for a Graduate Metallurgist to work on a permanent basis at a company based in Halesowen.

Responsibilities as Graduate Metallurgist:

  • Provide Process Control and Technical Support to Heavy and Die Plant Forges to ensure adherence to internal controls and to meet specifications for all forging/heat treatment operations.
  • Run and develop a metallographic facility to support production/customer testing, failure analysis and process improvements
  • Technical reviews for new orders in a timely manner
  • Material Process Guides – create and improve as more knowledge is acquired

As Trainee Production Foreman you will be joining at a time where a 6- month training and hand-over will be completed with the current Production Foreman. This will allow for the successful individual to learn to a high degree the products that the business build and the business in general.

Once you have achieved the Production Foreman position, you will be responsible for the operation of a section within the Manufacturing function, supporting the day-to-day management of the manufacturing area, overseeing a team of technicians, and ensuring an efficient operation in achieving business targets.

  • A good awareness of Health and Safety in an industrial environment is also required
  • Awareness of Lean Manufacturing and/ or six sigma preferably in the build of electro-mechanical assemblies
  • 1 years’ experience of direct first line operational teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to make sound and reasonable operational decisions
  • Be able to work under pressure with a can-do attitude
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the business and where the supply chain and manufacturing fits as part of the business strategy
  • Experienced within an engineering manufacturing environment
  • Able to think quickly and prioritise tasks on hand
  • Degree qualification or relevant recent experience in a similar role within an engineering or manufacturing discipline

Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Salary : £20.10 p/h PAYE on initial 6 month contract with option to move permanent.

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a multinational professional services offices in London. This is an established national service contract with a large scope of building and accommodation services.

The successful applicant will work with the existing team to ensure the building is managed effectively. This includes working with the Site Supervisor, M&E engineers, and Houses Services / Handy Person staff to ensure that the building is well-maintained and that any issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.

The role will involve supporting day-to-day operations, as well as carrying out general PPM and reactive tasks. The Site Engineer will also be responsible for managing sub-contracted works.

A 24-hour emergency call-out service is also provided.

The ideal candidate would undertake the engineering duties set out below:

 

Key Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Engineer responsibilities:

 

  • Undertaking PPM completion to agreed SLA’s
  • Providing a reactive service to deal with issues both in hours and out of hours
  • Undertaking minor project works
  • Management of sub-contractors for service and project works
  • Participating in a 24Hr Emergency Call Out rota to cover site requirements
  • Undertaking water treatment tasks in accordance with the ACOP

 

Key Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Engineer requirements:

 

  • Updating of Maintenance Scheduling system
  • Booking of time using a Service Management System (SMS)
  • Identifying Continuous Improvement initiatives including energy saving initiatives
  • Maintaining Plant/Plant rooms to a high standard and would be able to demonstrate:
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good level of customer focus / customer service
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel etc.)
  • A responsive, “can-do” attitude: – pro-active & self-motivated with energy and commitment
  • In depth knowledge of building services with the ability to fault find and resolve problems
  • City & Guilds Electrical Engineering
  • IEE 17th/18th Edition trained
  • H&S Awareness
  • Accuracy, sound judgement, and good prioritisation skills
  • Able to work under pressure and to deadlines, (including outside normal office hours if required) and to have a flexible, service conscious approach
  • Be punctual and have a proven sickness and time-keeping record
