We are currently on the lookout for a GRP Laminator/Fitter/Trimmer to join our client in the outskirts of Leicester on a weekend contract basis for minimum of 3 months.

Our client is looking for a GRP Laminator/Fitter/Trimmer to become part of a world-leading manufacturer of composites and GRP components for industries including Formula One, automotive, engineering, marine, aerospace, and rail. 

This is the position for someone who is passionate, dynamic, ambitious, motivated and ready to grow and achieve job satisfaction.

GRP Laminator/Fitter/Trimmer responsibilities:

• Fitting, Trimming, Demoulding and Laminating of components & moulds
• Following technical drawings
• Mould tool preparation, including polishing and waxing
• Lay up a variety of materials 

GRP Laminator/Fitter/Trimmer requirements:

• Previous experience in fiberglass laminating/trimming required
• Knowledge to hand lay-up
• Knowledge and experience in a full range of GRP materials
• Be able to work within a team as well as on your own initiative

Mechanical Fitter

We are currently on the lookout for a Mechanical Fitter to join our client who specialises in producing high-quality, technically challenging Stainless Steel & iron castings. 

The ideal candidate is a crucial member of an engineering team, who is able to maintain a high level of reliability, punctuality, determination and organisation. The role requires excellent communication skills and a positive attitude as you are going to assist team members to complete daily tasks for the department.

Mechanical Fitter responsibilities:

• Undertaking fault diagnosis and repairing in a heavy engineering foundry environment
• Ensuring that the foundry plant and ancillary equipment are always operated efficiently
• Routine maintenance, lubrication schedules and safety-related parts of machinery checks
• Preparing all work reports/checklists
• Supervising and controlling subcontractors on site, ensuring the company’s policy is implemented including review of method statements and permits to work

Mechanical Fitter requirements:

• Previous foundry work experience is esential
• Understanding written instructions and complying with company processes and procedures
• Previous experience in installation, inspection, repair and maintenance of mechanical systems, equipment and components
• Repairing using techniques including MIG/ welding of ferrous metals, fabrication skills, manual machinist skills (lathe and vertical/horizontal milling and bench fitting and assembly

Installation Manager

Are you within commuting distance of the South/South East/Southwest?

Our client are a specialist in the installation of UK manufactured, lightweight Thermotec Insulated conservatory roof replacement panels and due to growth they are looking for an Installation Manager to join their growing team.

The Installation Manager covers a Geographical region of around 3 to 4 counties, with approximately 6 to 8 Installation teams and is supported by a Planning Administrator in the office.

Purpose of the Installation Manager:

• To oversee the allocated Geographical Region of Conservatory Roof Installations & Service
• To work continuously to improve the number of installations completed on the 1st visit by improving process and working practice
• To identify and implement training requirements within the Installations Teams ensuring that all Team Members are fulfilling their role and satisfying customer requirements

Responsibilities as Installation Manager:

• Pre-Installation Planning – Ensuring each team has everything they need to do the job 1st time, every time
• Collaborating with the Surveyors to ensure accurate method statements are provided to the Installation Teams with all H & S considerations
• Collaborating with the Warehouse teams to ensure each installation is prepared ready for the teams to collect with every item
• Liaising with both the Planning Manager & Contract Administration Team to ensure that all issues from customers relating to their installation are handled appropriately first time, every time and reduce the ned for repeat visits
• Liaising with the Warehouse team to ensure all products are ready for your Installers, highlighting any product quality control issues
• Carrying out regular Quality Inspections (2 to 3 per day) to ensure a high standard of workmanship
• Creating a suite of metrics and KPIs which report to management how the Installations Department is performing, and the effects of the improvement initiatives are working
• Conducting regular meetings with Installation Teams acting on feedback and improvement suggestions from within the team
• Ensuring effective communication of information between office-based and field-based teams
• Maintaining customer relations, liaising with them to ensure they are receiving effective service and delivery, providing timely solutions to issues as they arise

Experience required as Installation Manager:

• Previous experience as a Conservatory Surveyor or Fitter – ESSENTIAL
• Experience Managing teams of Sub-Contractors / Engineers – ESSENTIAL
• Previous experience in an Installations Manager or equivalent role within the Window, Door, Conservatory or Construction industries – ESSENTIAL
• Ability to communicate with staff of all levels and abilities
• Great planning & organizational skills
• Attention to detail – we need work of a high standard to ensure standards
• Some flexibility in working hours

Installation Manager Terms:

• Full Time – 08:30-17:30

Composite Nightshift Supervisor Role and Responsibilities:

• Achieving delivery targets.
• Completed paperwork.
• Material control.
• Consumable control.
• Equipment and machine control.
• Raise any equipment machinery issues.
• LEAN Management supporting.
• Production/5S/TPM and innovation.
• To raise a deviation request with the responsible engineer and ensure all deviations are recorded.
• Do a pre inspection check.
• To do ply checks, bag checks and de-mould checks.

Composite Nightshift Supervisor Requirements:

• Good Team worker
