Purpose of an Electrical Inspector

To be a part of the test department checking and ensuring the quality of electrical harnesses, components and control modules and electrical assemblies.

Electrical Inspector Key Responsibilities

• Inspection and test of electrical harnesses, components, control modules
• Utilise various test equipment and quality inspection tooling.
• Reading and understanding engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics
• Report on any non-conformances and complete all relevant documentation.
• Meeting set production targets.
• Ensure products are built to appropriate industry and company quality standards, right first time.
• Ensure Health & Safety standards are adhered to at all times.
• Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient work area.
• Escalate issues to line management as required.
• Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with quality and safety regulations.

This is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. The successful job holder will be expected to perform varying tasks as required by their line manager & the overall objectives of the organisation.

Electrical Inspector Requirements:

• Time served apprenticeship preferred electrical basis.
• Proven experience of electrical test and inspection experience

• Ability to prioritise workload.

• Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management skills.

• Able to read engineering drawings/, including wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Follow writing procedures, maintaining high quality standards.
• Confident using various test and inspection equipment.
• Knowledge of oscilloscopes highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills
• Adhering to all required specifications as stated within the writing procedures.

Holt Engineering is recruiting a Quality Inspector to join our electronics manufacturing business in Porstmouth.
As the Quality Inspector to will be ensuring products are manufactured to conform to customer specifications. 

Your duties will be:

• Producing accurate records of inspections carried out and faults found
• Cable inspection 
• To use AOI and ensure it is programmed when required.
• Convert with IPC 610
• Ensuring the inspection area is kept clean
• Carry out a visual inspection or other specified verification in accordance with company procedures of goods manufactured

To be considered for this role you must have a background in electronics inspection. 
This role is full-time, paying £11-£12.50 per hour depending on your experience.

My client is looking for a Fabrication Inspector to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. This is a key role in their quality control process, and you will be responsible for inspecting their structural steelwork before it leaves their factory.

Previous Inspection experience is desirable but not essential. If you’re a time-served Welder or Fabricator, you will be taken under consideration.
 
Fabrication Inspector Role & Responsibilities

• Ensure that structural steelwork meets the highest standards of quality and safety
• Carry out visual inspections, dimensional checks, and weld checks
• Have an understanding of welding and fabrication, and the ability to read fabrication drawings
• Document findings and raise any non-conformances for rework
• Work as part of a team of experienced engineers and fabricators
• Develop a career and progress to more senior roles within the company
• Knowledge of the requirements of Execution Classes 3 & 4 is desirable along with National Structural Steelwork Specifications
