I’m on the lookout for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a highly reputable and long established company within the Yeovil area. The role of the Manufacturing Engineer is to implement new and improve existing production lines and processes in order to maximise efficiency’s. You will be tasked to design, setup and develop these processes utilising lean principles to optimise productivity.

Manufacturing Engineer Role: 

  • To assist the Technician team in determining the correct TPM activities and schedules.
  • To design, setup and develop production lines / processes utilising lean principles to optimise cell productivity.
  • Review existing production Cells and implement changes to improve labour utilisation.
  • Provide solutions / improvements to address HSE issues
  • Provide support to the manufacturing Cells and drive continuous improvement through RCA.
  • Provide technical / Process support to Engineering Technicians in support of RCA.
  • To ensure that all new or modified processes, equipment and materials are introduced and used in accordance with UK Health and Safety regulations and Company Procedures.
  • Ensuring timely completion of Kaizen ideas
  • Be a key driver in our safety first culture

The successful Manufacturing Engineer: 

  • Ideally Degree Educated and/or Time served apprenticeship in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering related support or suitable discipline.
  • Proven Experience in managing projects is essential.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt qualification (or practical application) is desirable.
  • Hands on practical Engineering skills 
  • Demonstrable RCA problem solving skills.
