As Project Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of New Product Introduction -managing scope, schedule, finance, risk quality, and resources.

 

Key responsibilities as Project Manager:

  • To be a passionate and self-motivated Project Manager who is committed to producing top-quality work every time.
  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve on-time delivery, on cost, and quality fundamentals.
  • Manage the full project, from cradle to grave until full series production.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, ensuring that objectives are prioritised correctly. Working closely and coherently with Engineering, Sales Operations and Quality
  • Be involved with continuous improvement.

Experience as: Project Manager:

  • Qualification in Project Management or previous relevant Project Management experience
  • Engineering degree or other manufacturing or engineering degree level qualification preferred.
  • Experience in an electrical or mechanical engineering business an advantage
  • Proven problem-solving experience – able to drive through improvements.
  • Experience working with MRP systems an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

We are currently working alongside one of the globes largest and most prestigous manufacturing businesses, to help them find a number of experienced Project Engineers on a contract basis helping with critical projects.

As a Project Engineer you will be involved in driving and assesing the achievement of aerospace projects across a number of remits including ECS, Hydraulics, and life support systems. 

Key respnsiblities Project Engineer: 

  • Create project plans, schedules, and determine milestones to customer expectations using earned value metrics
  • Monitor and maintain project plans, ensure focus is maintained to milestone adherence to ensure products are delivered on time
  • Create and monitor the progress of work packages for internal suppliers to support technical and schedule adherence.
  • Build internal and external customer relationships throughout projects to ensure completion
  • Ensuring that projects run within cost, quality, and time metrics
  • Management of requirements, including requirements validation and the appropriate allocation of requirements
  • Manage project risks and mitigation plans.

Requirements of Project Engineer 

  • HND/HNC/Degree in mechanical engineering/aerospace
  • Great communication skills, verbal and written
  • Previous experience of working within a project engineering environment, and an understanding of the engineering lifecycle of a product from conception to commissioning
  • Previous experience of using Microsoft Project, or a similar project forecasting system
  • A strong understanding and experience of working with suppliers and integrated supply chains and how and where they fit in the project lifecycle

Key responsibilities as Purchasing Project Administrator

 

  • Booking goods in on ERP /MRP system and responsible for the accurate data input
  • Procurement of raw materials to specification
  • Procurement of bought in items to specification.
  • Placing orders for any sub-contractor activities
  • Assisting the Project Manager with project related purchasing, booking of transport for the safe and on time shipment of project related orders
  • Assisting the Project Manger with project and QA/ documentation

 

 

Experience as Purchasing Project Administrator

  • Proven purchasing experience from within a production style environment is essential, ideally 2-3 years, and will have involved the purchasing of raw materials.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP is essential.
  • An interest in production and purchasing is crucial, and a understanding of how they are an essential part of ensuring on specification and on time delivery to our customers
  • A confident self-starter would do well in this role, prioritising effectively and being proactive in managing their own workload.
  • A genuine relationship builder both face to face and over the phone
  • A demonstrable understanding of dealing with sub-contractors would be an advantage.
  • Understanding material drawings would be a real advantage
