Trainee Production Foreman:  

We are currently partnering with a leading global manufacturer based in the Dorset area. Our client, a respected innovative business, provides manufacturing excellence into the health-care sector. They are now looking for a Trainee Production Foreman to join their fast-paced people orientated business

 
As Trainee Production Foreman you will be joining at a time where a 6- month training and hand-over will be completed with the current Production Foreman. This will allow for the successful individual to learn to a high degree the products that the business build and the business in general.

Once you have achieved the Production Foreman position, you will be responsible for the operation of a section within the Manufacturing function, supporting the day-to-day management of the manufacturing area, overseeing a team of technicians, and ensuring an efficient operation in achieving business targets. 

Key Responsibilities as Trainee Production Engineer

• Provide Leadership and line management to the team, co-ordinating their workloads and providing support to ensure that the team delivers.
• Development of the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, whilst fostering a culture of work safely.
• Maintaining high standards of quality, regulatory and ISO requirements.
• Overseeing the production process in line with the agreed production schedule and monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as agreed.
• Liaising with QA, Design, Service, Operations, Purchasing and sales
• Supervising and motivating the Production team and leading lean production practices
• Ensuring that the production is efficient and cost effective by assessing total production capacity.

 
Key experience as Trainee Production Engineer

• A good awareness of Health and Safety in an industrial environment is also required
• Awareness of Lean Manufacturing and/ or six sigma preferably in the build of electro-mechanical assemblies
• 1 years’ experience of direct first line operational teams in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to make sound and reasonable operational decisions
• Be able to work under pressure with a can-do attitude
• Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the business and where the supply chain and manufacturing fits as part of the business strategy
• Experienced within an engineering manufacturing environment
• Able to think quickly and prioritise tasks on hand
• Degree qualification or relevant recent experience in a similar role within an engineering or manufacturing discipline

Under the guidance of the Supply Chain & Purchasing Manager, the role will integrate customer demand, material availability, purchase orders and managing stock.

Supply Chain & Purchasing Professional role responsibilities:

• Gathers data and conducts analysis with the goal of improving the organisations supply chain operations.
• Identifies underperforming areas in the supply chain and may suggest improvements.
• Maintain and improve existing data analysis tools, reports and business processes.

The successful Supply Chain & Purchasing Professional will have:

Quality Inspector

Quality Inspector Salary: £28 – 33.5k

The ideal Quality Inspector will have:

• Experience in conducting inspection operations within a Kanban manufacturing facility
• The ability to identify non-conforming products and ensure product non-conformity is managed
• Able to support all corrective actions & quality reviews to ensure preventative action is effective

Duties of the Quality Inspector role will include:

• Conducting inspection operations within the Kanban manufacturing facility
• Ensuring the process flow is un-interrupted and the required delivery schedule is supported
• Using a range of hand tools to ensure work is being produced to a high standard
• Visual inspection
• Recording & reporting all internal & supplier defects
• Ensuring products & final release documentation are supplied to customers defect free
• Ensuring where unavoidable errors occur, they are detected as early as possible during the manufacturing process and not at the pre-treatment or final inspection stage

Duties more specific to this role include:

• Booking in sub-contract parts
• Pre Process Inspections
• Identifying and reporting non-confirming products and arranging rework where required
• Final inspection of all Kanban kit deliveries before dispatch

Technical Administrator

Salary – dependent on experience but c.£ 30-34k

Location – Andover

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision Engineering company in the Andover area, who are looking for a Technical Administrator to join their growing team, with an immediate start.
The Technical Administrator responsibilities:

• Administrative qualities such as:

• Planning jobs, writing new jobs, checking jobs booked in by admin team
• Obtaining material quotes and sub-contractor quotes
• Amending contract review with information given by the shop floor
• Chasing up orders (material, tooling, subcon work)
• Create/amend frozen operations
• Sending customer acknowledgements

• Assisting with manual and CNC machine issues
• Creating inspection reports for critical parts
• Creating FAIRs and putting NCRs on the system

Please note that not all these skills will be required, and the relevant training will be provided.

The ideal Technical Administrator will be someone who has had machine shop experience that has then moved into a administrative role, or someone who has technical administration experience from an engineering, production or manufacturing background.

Graduate Metallurgist

Responsibilities as Graduate Metallurgist:

• Provide Process Control and Technical Support to Heavy and Die Plant Forges to ensure adherence to internal controls and to meet specifications for all forging/heat treatment operations.
• Run and develop a metallographic facility to support production/customer testing, failure analysis and process improvements

Production Technician – Sonar Transducer Manufacture

Accountable to the Team Leader, the Operator will be responsible for a variety of production tasks within the sonar transducer section. He/she will be responsible for the manufacture and test of a variety of products and assist in the implementation of processes and tooling/test equipment to support reliable and cost effective manufacturing.

Responsibilities include:

 

To assist in production and test of 1-3 piezo-composite transducer products utilising a variety of production, laboratory and workshop techniques and equipment

• Ability to interpret test results and act on those results.
• Understanding technical drawings, assembly procedures and test specifications
• Communicating errors in documents or assemblies to the Production Engineers/Team Leaders

• Be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of hand tools both for mechanical and electrical operations
• Adhere to control processes to achieve conforming product
• Support prototyping and first build activity and prepare products for the transfer to production
• Complete paperwork in accordance with quality & contractual requirements ensuring materials & product traceability
• Communicate manufacturing failures and process improvement ideas to Team leader
• Ability to work within a lean manufacturing environment.
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping standards in areas of activity
• Follow company procedures on ESD compliance
• Be aware and compliant with Environmental, Health & Safety requirements
• Appropriate training will be provided to be able to perform the various manufacturing operations

Knowledge, skills and personal qualities required

• A production technician who has worked in a multi-disciplined manufacturing/production environment for at least 3 years.
• Previous experience working with resins/polymers/polyurethanes to tight tolerances would be advantageous.
• Previous experience in milling/machining would be an advantage but not essential.
• A knowledge of production techniques including lean manufacturing techniques.
• A good practical experience of soldering/de-soldering preferably to IPC J-STD-001and PCB assembly and rework would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Understands the principles and need for production control documentation and traceability.
• Able to trace faults in end product and identify production inefficiencies and suggest solutions.
• Possess a working knowledge of ISO 9000 requirements in a production environment.

Challenges

• Meeting sometimes challenging timescales, work as part of a team to reliably deliver a range of products to production quality, on time and to budget with minimum wastage.
• The ability to adapt and work on different products as directed throughout the working day.
• Able to work overtime or shifts if required.

Key accountabilities

• Directly reports to the area team leader
• As a pre requisite must work as part of a small team supporting all members in achieving both quality of product and meeting customer delivery dates.

Our client design manufacture and distribute components to various sectors worldwide and looking for an Accounts assistant to support with the day to day requirements within the accounts department. 

As the Assistant to the account team your duties will be:

• Dealing with import and exports and the related VAT and Duty
• Reconciling multiple currency bank and credit card accounts
• Control servicing on company assets
• Experience with Sage50 cloud accounts
• Monthly reports for Operations Director
• Completing and submitting VAT returns
• Monthly payroll journals and payment of wages
• Liaising with accountants at year end
• Posting sales and credit invoices, maintaining sales ledger, credit control, chasing customers for overdue invoices by email and phone
• Posting purchase invoices, maintaining purchase ledgers, paying suppliers in multiple currencies.

To be successful in this role you must have previous experience within book keeping or accounts. 

This role is a permanent position paying £15.00-£18.00 per hour depending on experience, our client is flexible with the working hours and require 16-20 hours per week.
