Electrical Maintenance Engineer

We are currently on the lookout for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our client who specialises in producing high-quality, technically challenging Stainless Steel & iron castings. 

Electrical Maintenance Engineer responsibilities:

• Ensure everyone is working in a safe environment
• Ensure the foundry plant and ancillary equipment are always operated efficiently minimising all types of waste
• Undertake fault diagnosis and repair in a heavy engineering foundry environment

Electrical Maintenance Engineer requirements:

• City & Guilds 17th edition Wiring Regulations
• Ability to read LADDER diagrams and PLC literate and circuit diagrams
• Ability to perform electrical control circuits and 3-phase power supplies, and fault finding on AC/DC systems

Process Engineer

We are currently working with a global supplier of lightweight aluminium castings who feed into major automotive manufacturers around the world and are looking for a Process Engineer to join their team.

Responsibilities as a Process Engineer:

• Support rolling production plan.
• Full understanding of setting the die casting cell.
• Production robot program changeovers, back-ups and general overseeing.
• Shift handover meetings.
• Drive quality & OEE performance.
• Documentation of set-up paperwork and action reports.
• Reacting to quality issues.
• Maintaining the die cast process within set cycle times.
• Understanding and adjusting DCM parameters to achieve desired results.

Skills needed for Process Engineer:

• Good communication skills both oral & written.
• Reasonable computer skills.
• 3 years’ experience in high pressure die casting.
• Hard working, self-motivated, mobile and willing to take on whatever duties are required to meet the needs of the job.
• Facilitate and co-ordinate quality requirements, ensuring customer standards are met.
• Need to be attentive to detail and follow procedures set out.
• Support team members in identification of improvement activities and problem solving.
• Ensure all data collection is correct and time constraints are met.
• Ensure all quality procedures are implemented and adhered to.
• Maintenance and establishment of systems/procedures to control set-up recording and storage; cycle time review/cycle breakdown analysis; preventative maintenance; continuous improvements of system reliability.

Graduate Metallurgist

We are currently on the lookout for a Graduate Metallurgist to work on a permanent basis at a company based in Halesowen.

Responsibilities as Graduate Metallurgist:

• Provide Process Control and Technical Support to Heavy and Die Plant Forges to ensure adherence to internal controls and to meet specifications for all forging/heat treatment operations.
• Run and develop a metallographic facility to support production/customer testing, failure analysis and process improvements
• Technical reviews for new orders in a timely manner
• Material Process Guides – create and improve as more knowledge is acquired
• Provide technical support to Forge Manager/Supervision in material selection
• Assist in the investigation of quality/non-conformance issues

The Graduate Metallurgist requirements:

• A Metallurgical/Technical Qualification or experienced background is preferred
• Flexibility in working hours may be required at times to cover working patterns

• You will create and maintain Configuration Status Accounting and Configuration Items Lists records.
• Support CM Team Led and SDA in Identification, capture and release of design and technical information.
• Ensure that all ECR/ECN submissions meet defined quality and completeness criteria prior to approval.
• Support the Configuration Team Lead with planning, management, audit, and assessment activities when requested in support of the Configuration Management Working Group
• Perform dap analysis on baseline status for planned baseline release and governance rates.

 
Experience required for the Configuration Engineer:

• Knowledge and experience of managing contractors and suppliers CM interfaces.
• In depth knowledge of the System/Product Lifecycles (for System, Application, HW, SW, FW)
• Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of performing and managing CM processes throughout the full product/ system lifecycle within a design and production engineering environment.
• Provide guidance on the creation and progression of ECR/ECN change vehicles for all stages of the change process.
• Administer and provide user support to the project/product team with respect to the PIM tool and CM processes.

• Familiarity with Defence Standards (particularly DEF-STAN and MIL STD)
• Preferably have a sound knowledge of military systems, ideally maritime systems. Highly regulated industries such as Aerospace, Nuclear or Rail
• Experience with system architectural design and development using Model base systems engineering techniques.

CNC Turner Role & Responsibilities

• Able to program, set & operate CNC Lathes
• Well-practiced with Fanuc controls
• A background in working to tight tolerances
• Experience working with multi-axis lathes, such as sliding head machines is desirable but not essential as on-the-job training can be provided

• A fully-fledged CNC Miller Programmer will be able to command the higher end of the £16-20 ph salary bracket
• A background working to aerospace, defence or similar standards
