Our client have an immediate need for a post graduate Design Engineer with at least 2/3 years in an engineering design role to join the business and become part of the research and development function. You will be part of a team working on the development of specialised solutions mostly working on the company’s main product offering.
 
You will be able to work hand in hand with the other global divisions of the R&D function of this worldwide business, sharing resources and information to create specialised solutions for a range of requirements.

 
Design Engineer required experience:

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience within an engineering design capacity
  • Demonstrable experience in using Solidworks CAD software desirable
  • Knowledge in 2D and 3D design
  • Mechanical engineering background
  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, castings, injection moulding, etc.)
  • Understanding the importance of legislation and documentation for highly regulated industry is key
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge (Six Sigma)

  • Inspect your work to ensure that it meets drawing and SPC requirements.

We are currently working with a large scale component manufacturer in hiring a 5-Axis CNC Machinist. 

Key responsibilities for the 5-Axis CNC Machinist:

  • Machining quality components in accordance with technical engineering drawings and specifications
  • Heidenhain controls
  • Setting and clocking one-off components using clamps, angle plates, etc.
  • Software use, modelling using Solidworks, programming using NCG Cam (Training will be provided on software).
  • Use of overhead cranes. (LOLER Training will be provided)
  • Correctly identifying parts using hard stamping.
  • Deburring components and ensuring they are fit for transportation.
  • Maintaining machinery, swarf removal, routine oiling and greasing etc.
  • Carry out daily bookings against route card jobs and timings.
  • Adhere to and encourage health and safety methods and procedures.
  • Inspection for all components throughout the process.
  • Complete flexibility and mobility of labour as necessary.

  • Have an Engineering background and an in depth understanding of how buildings are constructed. Drawing Office or Architectural practice and meeting the demands of designing for manufacturing
  • Thorough knowledge of Building Regulations and other legislative
  • Excellent visualisation and communication skills that encourage good relationships with colleagues and other professionals
  • To be able to produce detailed drawings, models, and layouts in collaboration with Architects, Structural Engineers, and MEP Consultants.
  • Must have 3D Software experience to create a unified model that all disciplines and trades can use to complete their work
  • Produce schedules, cutting lists and BOM’s for purchasing from the Revit model
  • Create accurate and concise working and installation drawings for both factory and site operatives
